SASKTEL INTERNATIONAL AWARDED $6.2 MILLION NETWORK PROJECT IN MOZAMBIQUE

November 26, 2004 - SaskTel International has been awarded a $6.2 million contract by the Telecommunicacoes De Mozambique Company (TDM) to complete a rural network infrastructure project in the African country. SaskTel International will undertake the installation and commissioning of microwave backbone, rural radio and external line plant in the northern province of Tete. The project will provide initial and upgraded service to over 175,000 square kilometers of Mozambique.

"This latest contract marks SaskTel International's eleventh contract in Africa," said Maynard Sonntag, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. "Sharing our expertise with the world by delivering world-class network consulting and project management services enables SaskTel International to continue bringing revenue back home to benefit the people of Saskatchewan."

The project is phase I of a two phase program worth over $12 million that TDM is implementing and is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2005 taking approximately fourteen months to complete. All of the work will take place in Mozambique, with seven SaskTel International employees working on site. Over the past 11 years, SaskTel International has completed ten stand-alone projects to improve communications in East Africa , totaling more than $58 million.
