TBayTel –IPTV Assessment

Description of Project:
In May 2004, SI engaged in discussions with TBayTel regarding its interests in offering video services within its serving area. In September, SI signed a contract to evaluate TBayTel’s existing operations and identify the possibility of whether or not a business case existed for providing video services.

Description of Services:
SI conducted a comprehensive review and assessment of TBayTel’s operational processes and procedures as well as its existing network architecture.  The assessment was conducted in order to identify for budgetary purposes, the financial and resource capital requirements needed in order to implement an IPTV based service offering within TBayTel’s serving region.

SaskTel subject matter experts conducted an assessment of TBayTel’s individual business divisions (i.e. Networks, Marketing, IT, Human Resources, Contact/Care Centre etc.) to develop a resource development strategy in order to prepare for and adapt to the operational requirements of an IPTV service line.  In addition and as a result of SI’s assessment, a comprehensive final report outlining a sound recommendation and strategy for the implementation of an IPTV service offering within the TBayTel serving area was prepared and delivered.
