Syria Network Assessment

Name of Client: Rich Telecom, Ontario
Location: Syria
Start Date: May 12, 2006
Completion Date: May 26, 2006

Description of Project:
SI was contracted to provide IP Network and Switch Traffic/Routing Consulting Services to assist RICH to identify and attempt to resolve call termination problems between RICH and Syrian Telecommunications Establishment (STE) in Syria.

Description of Service:
As an initial step, SI performed a comprehensive review and assessment of STE’s existing network architecture and systems, in order to identify the financial and resource capital requirements needed to implement a staged network upgrade, and provide an overall efficiency improvement plan within STE’s serving region. The intent of this review was to determine the most efficient and effective means to upgrade and improve the network as well as be cost effective at the same time.

In support of this initiative, SaskTel deployed a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) that reviewed and assessed STE’s individual network divisions, as identified by STE.

As a result of the assessment, the following was delivered to STE:

  • A detailed report providing: recommended solutions; discussion of the analysis; implementation strategies; timelines; and budget requirements.
  • An Executive presentation of findings and recommendations delivered in the report.
