Steve's Bio

Steve Sousa is Vice President of Marketing and Operations for SaskTel International. Steve is responsible for marketing SaskTel International's vast knowledge and strong technical expertise in the telecom industry, internationally. In this capacity, he is also responsible for Professional Services, government and development bank liaison along with supporting international project development.

A former International Business Management Graduate, Steve has been able to acquire his education through different institutions abroad. Other than Canada, Steve was able to conclude his studies in both China and Poland. Steve's language capabilities include English, Portuguese, Spanish and Mandarin

Prior to joining SaskTel International, Steve Sousa was the Senior Trade Finance Specialist for the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP). Steve's responsibilities were to secure financing and credit insurance for both exporters and purchasers of Saskatchewan products and services. While at STEP, Steve was also the Provincial Liaison for the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), the Export Development Corporation (EDC) and NorthStar Trade Finance.

Prior to STEP, Steve was stationed in Washington, DC at the Office of Liaison with the International Financial Institutions (OLIFI) at the Canadian Embassy. Through this capacity, Steve was able to work closely with both the World Bank and Inter-American Development in supporting Canadian interests at these institutions. Through this experience Steve was able to leverage this knowledge and expertise to support Canadian firms and organizational interests in securing opportunity funded by the institutions.

Steve was also a nominee for the 2000 Ontario Premier's Award for outstanding career achievements and contribution to the province.
